Who We Are
Terrapin Books is a small press specializing in poetry books. We publish books by individual authors, an occasional anthology, and a small number of craft books.
We have published collections by Neil Carpathios, Lynne Knight, Jessica de Koninck, Christine Stewart-Nunez, Carolyn Miller, Patricia Clark, Susanna Lang, Hayden Saunier, Michelle Menting, Karen Paul Holmes, Geraldine Connolly, Lisa Bellamy, Paige Riehl, Ann Fisher-Wirth, Gary J. Whitehead, Sarah Wetzel, Michael T. Young, David Graham, and Kory Wells. It is a great pleasure to usher these wonderful books into the poetry world.
We have published three anthologies, The Doll Collection, The Book of Donuts, and, most recently, A Constellation of Kisses. We have also published The Crafty Poet II: A Portable Workshop, edited by Diane Lockward. This is the companion volume to the original The Crafty Poet: A Portable Workshop, now available in a revised edition from Terrapin Books. Our newest craft book is The Practicing Poet: Writing Beyond the Basics, edited by Diane Lockward.
Our poets have been featured at Tracy K. Smith's podcast series The Slowdown, Poetry Daily, The Writer's Almanac, Verse Daily, The Missouri Review, Ted Kooser's American Life in Poetry, Rebecca Foust's "Poetry Sunday" column in Women's Voices for Change, Cagibi Express, and Moms in Poetry.
Our books have been reviewed in a number of publications, including The Chattahoochee Review, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Washington Independent Review of Books, American Poetry Journal, Broadkill Review, Broad Street Review, Escape into Life, Rain Taxi Review of Books, Mom Egg Review, Sabotage, Wordgathering, Emrys Journal, The Lit Pub, North of Oxford, Pedestal Magazine, Bone Bouquet, New Letters, Pleiades, Compulsive Reader, The Collagist, Connotation Press, Rhino Poetry, Whale Road Review, The Adirondack Review, Valparaiso Poetry Review, Glass: A Journal of Poetry, Poet Lore, Cider Press Review, The Literary Review, Literary Matters, Empty Mirror, The Rupture, Neon Literary Magazine, Sugar House Review, The Hopper, Under a Warm Green Linden, The Rupture, and Broad Street Review.
